Several weeks ago, the New Jersey State Assembly passed the revised version of S2842 . Governor Christie signed off on it. The next logical step would be for the New Jersey’s Health Commissioner, Mary O’Dowd, to set-up meetings with the community for help in implementing this plan. Specifically, accept repeated attempts by the Stormes and Wilson family for valuable information needed for working with children and their parents. Unfortunately, this is not the case. After being ignored by both Commissioner O’Dowd & John O’Brien, Director of New Jersey’s medical marijuana program. Frustrated mom, Jennie Stormes, started a petition on Change.org to show the current administration’s lack of good faith in going forward.
In 2010, John Corzine signed the ” New Jersey Compassionate Use Medical Marijuana Act “, legally establishing New Jersey as a medical marijuana state. Governor Christie has implemented the strictest regulation known in the Nation which has effectively stalled this program for the last 3 years. In the Medical Marijuana community, it was seen as Governor Christie the ex-prosecutor, giving a little in his staunch opposition to this program. Actually, the Governor’s signature on this bill, was a deflation of this topic during an election year. If there was an actual true sense of helping sick children in the state, the parents wouldn’t be reaching voicemail.
